I would like to thank you for all your hard work in making the Camp 21 experience a success for me. Please thank Dr. Reed for her work and vision, and Carrie Lockwood as well, for her organization for putting this together.
When I first started trying to live the "Creation Health" pattern I did have some difficulties. I thought I was drinking enough water and eating my fruits and veggies. I thought I knew what a portion/serving was. I knew that I needed to exercise but always put it off for “tomorrow.” I knew that I needed 7 to 8 hours of sleep but didn’t always pay attention to whether I got it.
Well, you and Dr. Reed’s book changed all that! The first day I tried to drink my water it took me 18 hours! I never thought I would ever finish it. Now I wouldn’t miss my water for anything. When I started counting my servings of fruit and veggies I realized I wasn’t getting the proper amounts that I thought I was.
And going to the gym! Well, I went and now, even when I don’t want to exercise, I feel so much better afterwards that it is a habit that my body craves. No matter how tired I was when I started I always feel better after. As for my sleep patterns I have tried to be more aware of just what time it is and to go to bed when I am tired.
It helped me when you would ask me the questions about if I would have changed what I did that day or not. It caused me to stop and reflect and helped me remember my affirmation statement, “I am calm and energized.” Which my teammates would remind me of when ever I started getting stressed out.
So, for me this was a great learning experience. I feel that I have taken these basic principles for healthy living and made them mine. Every time I look at a clock and it says 9:30 am, I will think of you, Douglas, and your call. I didn’t like it at first but now I am going to miss it!
