Positive Thoughts, Positive Results

Henry Ford said, “If you think you can do a thing or think you can’t do a thing, you’re right.”

Wow! What a profound quote. Have you ever had a really great idea, say, for a home project or a new business or maybe a special trip? If you have, you probably found that getting started was easy--all those new, positive thoughts keep you motivated and encouraged. But once you got into it, maybe you began experiencing negative thoughts, or a worry here or there; or many there were some roadblocks that slowed your initial progress. Soon, you found yourself on the path of giving up and finally, you did give up and quit.

So how is it that we can start so high and, before we know it, our desire and attitude have hit rock bottom? For most of us, it boils down to negative thinking. Those little gremlins of doubt that pop into our heads can ruin the best of plans.

Let me encourage you to fight against those negative thoughts and replace them with positive, affirming thoughts that say “I can, I will, I did.” To make that positive self-talk a reality, it’s best to make it concrete. I suggest you start each day by writing a daily affirmation, encouraging your own success. Just the simple act of putting an affirmation into written form, I guarantee you will experience a transformation of your thoughts from negative to positive, right before your eyes.

To close let’s take a look at another profound quote. “Thoughts of your mind have made you what you are and thoughts of your mind will make you what you become from this day forward.” -- Catherine Ponder
